Intellectus Prep delivers an equitable educational experience for scholars in grades 6-12. Through experiential learning, restorative practice and personal development, scholars are prepared to compete academically, contribute socially, and choose their pathway to college and career.

Who We are

Intellectus. From the Latin word intellegō (“I understand; perceive”)

Intellectus Preparatory Charter School is the prominent exhibition of an innovative approach to education which promises a transformational and catapulting experience for scholars, families, and the community. We ensure that every scholar we serve experiences full understanding, in-depth knowledge, and comprehension of academic, social, and life concepts necessary for their success within and beyond school.

FAQ

  • The school will be open in August of 2022.

  • Applications are available here on our website intellectusprep.org You may also visit the school to obtain a printed application form.

  • Our school is run on a public lottery system. However, we give an additional preference point to students who live in Mount Vernon, have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) as a special education student, or are English Language Learners (ELL).

  • Yes. Intellectus Prep is a tuition-free, public charter school.

  • Intellectus serves grades 6, 7 and 8 for the 2023-2024 school year. We will add a grade each year all the way to grade 12.

  • No. Intellectus Prep can accept any student who lives in New York State. We give priority to students who live in Mount Vernon..
