When will the school be open?

The school will be open in August of 2022.

Where can I apply?

Applications will be released in October of 2021. However, you can add your child’s name to our early interest list. Families on our early interest list will receive a personal call and ongoing updates about the school.

Is there any way to increase the chances of being admitted?

Our school is run on a public lottery system. However, we give an additional preference point to students who live in Mount Vernon, have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) as a special education student, or are English Language Learners (ELL).

Is the school a public school?

Yes. Intellectus Prep is a tuition-free, public charter school.

What grade will the school start with?

We are still listening and learning from our community. We will either start with 6th and 7th grade. We would love to hear your feedback in our survey.

Do I have to live in Mount Vernon to attend?

No. Intellectus Prep can accept any student who lives in New York State. We give priority to students who live in Mount Vernon..
