An innovative approachβ¦
Intellectus. From the Latin word intellegΕ (βI understand; perceiveβ)
Intellectus Preparatory Charter School is the prominent exhibition of an innovative approach to education which promises a transformational and catapulting experience for scholars, families, and the community. We ensure that every scholar we serve experiences full understanding, in-depth knowledge, and comprehension of academic, social, and life concepts necessary for their success within and beyond school.
Non scholae sed vitae. We learn not for school, but for life
βTell me and Iβll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and Iβll understand.β
Educational Experience
Our scholars experience learning in a way that maximizes their intellectual capacity and develops their skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. By transcending beyond an obsession with obtaining good grades alone, we equip scholars for their futures with an understanding of what success requires. Scholars experience the process of continuous improvement - requiring them to be reflective and introspective, willing to make adjustments to their practices to reach their goals.
Educational Equity
The promise to deliver educational equity begins with the development of those who directly deliver the educational experience - teachers. Our team engages in ongoing professional development, delivered within tailored professional learning communities, personalized learning plans, and an incentivized approach to establishing longevity and increasing capacity. No teacher is left behind. Teachers are trained to engage with the latest technology, the newest pedagogical methods, and effective uses of data to make learning meaningful, classrooms engaging, and ensure student success. Teachers are well-prepared to maintain an anti-racist school culture, address the needs of their scholars, and contribute to the school community at-large.
Educational Opportunity
The community is our scholarsβ outdoor classroom. Partnerships with families and local businesses are crucial to the complete educational experience our scholars deserve. Our approach extends beyond the school building to help ensure scholars have the necessary support to do their best learning. Not only do we expand the opportunity of learning beyond the classroom with local businesses, but we partner with neighboring schools to share resources. We provide our scholars with a well-rounded education by embedding financial literacy and counseling for every scholar we serve.
We want to hear from you!
We are asking for community input regarding our school model. Weβd like you to share your thoughts so that we may build Intellectus Prep together. This form helps us ensure that the school we propose assesses the needs you have expressed as a community. We donβt believe a school β charter, private, or public β should ever operate without the input of the community.
